Enterprise AI & Data Advisory
Fractional CDOA Fractional CDO blends two C-suite roles: the Chief Data Officer — who owns data strategy, governance, and AI outcomes — and the Chief Digital Officer — who drives technology modernization and digital transformation. Engaged part-time, they bring full executive authority across both mandates without the cost or commitment of a full-time hire. and advisory services for energy and industrial organizations ready to turn data investment into measurable commercial outcomes.
The data exists. The platforms have been funded. The AI has been piloted. What's missing is the organizational trust that turns a dashboard into a decision — and a decision into a result on the income statement.
Five Streams Digital works with a select number of energy and industrial organizations to close that gap. What makes the approach different: we've operated on every side of the data equation simultaneously — IT infrastructure, OT systems, enterprise applications, and advanced analytics. Most advisors know one of these worlds. We've had to make all four work together.
That means we understand data where it's generated (operations, field assets, financial systems) and where it's consumed (analytics, AI models, commercial decisions). The integration between those two worlds — IT/OT convergence, application-to-analytics pipelines — is exactly where most enterprise AI programs stall. It's where we focus.
What We Do
For organizations that have data assets and AI ambitions but are not yet seeing commercial outcomes. We build the roadmap, the governance structure, and the adoption program — connecting the AI layer to the decisions that move the P&L.
For finance and accounting leaders facing a broken planning and close cycle. We deliver OneStream and Oracle EPM implementations end-to-end — from business case through adoption — with a track record of measurable cycle time reduction.
For organizations carrying technical debt across a fragmented application landscape. We develop the rationalization strategy, manage vendor selection, and oversee transformation programs across SAP, Oracle, and cloud-first ERP environments.
I spent seven years as Sr. Director of Data, BI & AI at Targa Resources — a ~$55B midstream energy infrastructure company — building the enterprise AI and data function from the ground up. 140+ products. 70%+ adoption across 3,500 employees. An Operational Control Tower that surfaced unrealized EBITDA. An Advanced Process Control pilot that delivered a 400% IRR.
What made that mandate unusual: I operated across every layer of the data stack simultaneously. On the applications side — ERP, EPM, RPA, and enterprise systems — managing how data is created and governed. On the analytics side — BI platforms, AI models, and data products — managing how data is consumed and turned into decisions. And across the IT/OT boundary — integrating SCADA systems, field operational technology, and enterprise IT into a unified, SOX-compliant data lake. Most technology leaders live in one of these worlds. I had to make all three work together and prove it on the income statement.
Before Targa, 12 years in enterprise transformation consulting at Deloitte, KBR, Infosys, and TCS — delivering ERP and digital programs across Energy, EPC, Manufacturing, and Life Sciences in more than 90 countries.
